Hello
I have today been looking at the above vehicle.
symptoms are : not charging, battery light staying on.
new alt fitted (not by me ) 3 months ago.
removed small 3 pin plug from side of alt, started vehicle, light goes out.
checked wiring back in to loom, only two of the wires go back to fuse box, small black wire never connected, white green checked, goes back to alt warning lamp relay at fuse box- engine bay, gives 12v when engine running, red yellow wire has 5v on all the time ign on.
Question, is this some type of smart charging system? I thought smart charge had 3 wires
any other ideas on testing the alt? before i remove and fit new
