Hi all got our first almera with a possible timing chain fault. The trader has already replaced both cam and crank sensors and fault for cam/crank synchronization returns. They have given us some information of the inter web regards to the protuberance of the chain tensioner piston, this is a maximum of 10 MM (we are told )however it doesn't inform us where this is measured from? The cylinder part of piston isn't protruding more than 10MM but the distance from the body face to the back of the chain guide is certainly more than 10 MM .Is there a more reliable we to diagnose these?Regards Nigel.
