BMW X5 3.0d 2008 E60 - Reset service indicator via I-Drive - Fixed #Archived Message

Hi guys, We currently have this vehicle in for a first service,when accessing the service menu via the I-Drive system we can see that only a oil service is required,there is only an amber warning against the oil and a countdown of 500 miles or Sept '09, our problem being we cant reset the service menu for the oil change,we have followed the instructions set down by Autodata but they don't appear to work. My query is,are these indicators set by time instead of distance?,Making it too early for the service? Are Autodata wrong? will it be a BMW reset only? Info on the E60 X5 is limited with Autodata, Any ideas guys?
