Hi All,
I'm with Paul on this one. I am mobile as well and been in the trade for 20 years. Now attending less than half the vehicles I used to and my mobile competitors have all but disappeared. Cars are now more reliable (no carbs, points and ignition timing to go out etc) although customers can no longer have a "fiddle" under the bonnet. I believe they are also too complicated for there own good with fly by wire, immos, esp, etc etc. Also when they go wrong, it can be quite expensive to put right with ecu's, fobs, sensors and the like. I am all for advance in technology but some cars I go to are bristling with very expensive bits to go wrong and you need expensive bits of kit to diagnose the problem. Where will it all end? I shudder to think!
