    Hi Mark

    Bit tricky , but not £1500 quids worth.

    Removing centre console etc & disconnecting from gearbox is easy , difficult part is feeding cables thru bulkhead at end of centre tunnel. Cables go thru a plate held on by 8mm bolts , this is sandwiched between bulkhead & rear subframe , it can be loosened enough to feed the cables thru without lowering subframe but access to bolts is a nightmare & some will definately snap.

    Tie a line on to the old cables as you remove them to draw the new ones in.

    Allow 4-6 hours , cables were on back order with Rover , I got my last ones from Brown & Gammons , they do a kit which fits later MG TF cables to early cars , cost about £80 I think.
