    It's hard to feel much sympathy for the US side when they have for years ignored the fuel efficiency and sustainability issues. If they made half as many cars that used half as much fuel and lasted twice as long they might get some brownie points. I do like a big V8 though....

    Further to this point, why can't most UK cars really last much longer than around 10 - 12 years. Generally they are built with accurate machine-tools, hi-tech electronics, good lubricants etc. etc.
    Spend another £1 per car on corrosion prevention, double the sales tax, support R2RC etc.
    I feel a rant coming on....
