This car struggling with cold weather. Customer does very short journeys and after a couple of weeks the battery (a new varta) goes flat. If you turn on both heated screens the alternator doesn't keep up at idle which is probably the fault considering how this car is used. Question is: Anyone had this fault and fixed by fitting a new alternator - it's a Valeo 120A - or are there any mods to idle speed control or maybe even wiring. Or .. do I tell them not to use both screens in cold weather. Kind of misses the point though. By the way, the alternator gives out around 90A at 14.2V.
