Ford Focus 1.8 Endura 1999 - Rear doors deadlocked - Fixed # Archived Message

    Hi.

    Second problem of the day!

This is actually my Father-in-law's car so won't be earning me anything!!

Basically the rear doors are deadlocked. The key fob works the driver's door and you can hear the rear doors clicking when pressing the 'lock' button but nothing hapens on the rear doors when pressing the 'unlock' button.

There is a feed to the driver's door when the 'unlock' button is pressed but no feed to either rear door. I have traced this feed from the control module, down the O/S sill to where the loom splits off to go under the driver's seat. Before I strip out te seat - Does anyone know where the wires should be joined?

The confusing thing is - I can't bypass the feed to unlock either the front or rear doors. The c/l on the passenger front door has not worked since he bought the car although if you lock it manually it operates the rest of the system (or did until yesterday! Now it only operates the other front door.) I put this down to a faulty solenoid in the door catch.

If this turns out to being a faulty control unit I assume a replacement will need to be programmed?

I have to admit to not having an in-depth knowlege of cetral locking systems so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry for long post - Paul.
