Got this polo to look at, dragged in by the AA and they condemmed alternator. Was not charging at low revs when first started, but when revved to around 4000rpm the alt started charging and stayed charging even at low revs. Switch the vehicle off and wouldn't charge again until it was revved hard. There is also no battery lamp on dash panel when ignition switched on. Garage have put a new alternator on it today, and it is exactly the same. Pretty sure small wires on the alternator are wired one to the dash insert, and one to the ecu, aotodata shows incorrect colour wire. I have a brown/red, and a blue on the two pin plug. Any thoughts appreciated, thanks.
