Bit the bullet and replaced selector lever, problem came straight back!
Checked wiring to DSG gearbox, power, earth and CANbus continuity. I am currently getting "missing message from TCU" codes in engine, steering wheel electronics, ABS and I think instruments (sorry no code numbers, I'm at home). The fault takes about 3 miles to occur and when it does it seems like the gearbox ECU has crashed and then a few seconds later has re-started.
I am considering changing the gearbox ECU but it's £1148 plus vat and I need to be as sure as I can.
Do these units have any history of problems only my supplier says they have never sold one!
Also do I need any thing special to set it up/fit it, I have VAGCom (VCDS)for coding.
This one is keeping me awake at night, any help appreciated.
    Shaun
