    Hi Terry,
This is apparently the procedure using Vauxcom....

"First, read out, and write down the VIN, and MKN.
Then, read out, and write down all three CAN-BUS configuration (High-speed, Medium Speed, and Low speed)
Then, read out, and write down the variant coding (stalks, tempomat buttons, rear wipers, etc.)
Then you have to reset the old CIM, then remove from the vehcile.
Then, you have to take out the igniton lock (cylinder) from the old CIM, and also you have to remove the stalks.
You can only remove the igniton lock cylinder, when the key is in.
Then, install the stalks, and the igniton lock to the new CIM module, and then install it to the car.

Now, when you turn the ignition ON, the SVS lamp will flash, since the CIM is not matched to the vehicle, and your car will not start.

So, you have to programm it, in order to match to the car.

First, programm the CAN configuration of the three CAN network.
Then, programm the VIN, MKN, and the variant configuration.
Then, you have to match the CIM to the vehicle.
Then, you have to learn all the keys. (When you lear the keys, you will also learn the keyfobs, automatically).

Then, you have to match the CIM with all the other components (IPC, BCM, DDM, PDM, etc., the dealer tool (TECH2+CANdi) will do this automatically.).
Then, you have to calibrate the steering angle sensor, if equipped.

Then, clear fault codes in every control module the car has, and if it's everything is OK, then the car will start, the CDL will work, and none of the warning lamps are lit
    ."

    Regards
    Dave
