    This couild be a few different problems but it's worth checking footwells under the carpet for sodden spongy sound deadening material and waterlogged multiplugs. This happens because there are no drain holes in the sills and they fill with water (sloshing noise when braking from slow speeds). Check any earth leads in the footwells for corrosion too.

    There will be evidence of water ingress in the BSI if the footwells are waterlogged. Sometimes just drying out the car and the BSI is enough to resolve the problem.

    Good luck communicating with the BSI! Neither KTS (no surprise there!) nor Snap-On would get comms when I tried.
