Hi John The Viscous coupling in the middle of the propshaft is very prone to failure on these at around 50000 to 60000 miles. When this fails it partially siezes up and can damage the transfer box (IRD unit) and the rear diff. If you want more info ring Ken Greenway on 07836 220616. He specialises in reconditioning these couplings and the IRD units. He will be able to explain how to check wether any of these have failed much better than I can. A ridged wear pattern on the inside shoulder of the rear tyres is a good indicator of a siezed unit. Thanks John
