I seem to remember something very similar. I think theres a connector plug at the front of the N/S Inner wing with a male and female bullet connector on them. They are supposed to be parted but when the cars are being worked on, someone usually notices that they are disconnected and they push them together. if i remember correctly, one wire is red/white ( Temp gauge ) and the other wire is Blue, ( Alternator warning light ). So After this is done depending on coolant temp, The light may or may not go out and when the alternator starts charging, it burns out the temp sender. H.T.H. Tony S.
