VW Passat 53 reg AVB 1.9TDI 130k Squealing belt Archived Message

My dim job of the month!
The auxilliary belt on this car is fine from cold. Just as it is getting warm it suddenly squeals. The belt runs crank, alt,PAS,cooling fan and tensioner. The long run is from alt down to PAS. The belt is visibly "twanging" over this run.
I recently replaced the fan bearing due to rumbling.
I have just replaced the tensioner and belt only for the screaching to return as soon as the engine warmed up.
All the pulleys rotate freely by hand. I ran the engine with alt electrically disconnected. Still the same.
The only thing left is the PAS pump. Is it possible that this can suddenly create an abnormal load? The PAS does work although on lock the noise is dire!
    Any ideas guys?
    Tony
