Re: Land Rover Disco II TD5 2000 Manual Archived Message Posted by Tony Ludford on December 12, 2007, 1:01 pm, in reply to "Land Rover Disco II TD5 2000 Manual" Early Disco boxes had a habit of stripping the splines on the output shaft into the transfer box.. easy to check, take off the round plate on the rear of the transfer box and see if the output shaft moves without the transfer gears moving. However, at this age I thought they'd sorted the problem out... Another thought though, has it blown a diff? As the centre diff is open (unless diff-lock engaged), if the front or rear diff fails, you get no drive, just the relevant propshaft spinning.
