Re: ford transit 54 plate fwd Archived Message Posted by paul youngman on September 10, 2007, 7:24 pm, in reply to "ford transit 54 plate fwd" hi. we use the ford special tool for pressing the bearing out of the hub carrier. it is just a machined boss which utilises the five threads in the carrier to push the hub assembly out. this saves an enormous amount of time on these jobs. i will get the part no. later in week. to press bearing off, i find 3 6" extensions put through the drive flange & pushing against bearing while in the press to be ideal. hth. paul.
