Thanks for your help on that one i spoke to two different peugeot dealers one said it needs a new servo the other said you could adjust the pushrod between servo and master cylinder which i tried but could not get it right, customer was put off new servo (£219) so took it to the dealer that said they could adjust and so far has been ok!apparently when fitting new pads you must open bleed nipples and not force fluid back through m/cyl but nobody seems to know exactly why. always something to learn in this job!!
