MGZT 2002 1.8 Turbo Or Rover 75 - Non runner, lack of fuel pressure Archived Message

I recovered one of these the other week that had broken down. Test showed a lack of fuel pressure, even though there was a feed & earth at the pump & it could be heard humming away nicely. A scan pulled a few codes that seem to be present in these things even when they are right.

Anyway, with the help of couple of forum based friends I discovered that there is a cover under the rear seat to the near side that, when removed, reveals an accumulator/filter type arrangement (I think that’s what it was). On inspection it was clear that it had become separated & the result was that although the pump was running, it was merely pumping fuel back into the tank. All you need to do is reassemble it correctly fuel pressure is restored.

The codes still remain but I haven’t seen one of these yet without any!

    Cheers!
