I've taken the cover off and as far as I can tell by putting a slip of steel strip down the gap and marking it, the total piston protrusion is around 14mm. That's between the body and the back of the steel shoe. What I find frustrating is trying to see the correlation between the fuelling being stopped yet no cam/crank correlation codes. I've tried starting with the cam sensor and then the crank sensor disconnected but it makes no difference to the starting.
