Thanks Andrew, I did do that but found no snotters. So, i cut the brown/white and red/yellow wires at the CCM, Opened the CCM and measured at the back of the board. The Tyco relay had V batt going in but only 4.4 V going out. Any load would pull it down further.
I have ordered a couple of these relays, so hopefully i should know more next week when they have arrived and i have had chance to heat up the old Weller...
