Year of Manufacture *: 2008
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: QXWB
Whilst driving the ESP light comes on sometimes followed by ABS and Battery light then subsequently limp mode. The latter has not yet happened for us so have concentrated on the ESP issue.
The code logging is within the ABS module and states that communication has been lost with the Steering angle sensor module (code to follow)
Monitoring live data of the SAS module the power supply to the unit is lost intermittently for a second or so then returns which is obviously causing the code.
Next test is to physically scope that power supply and see if it does indeed fail or not?
My question is where is the SASM or is it integrated into the power steering module or ABS unit? Angle sensor is part of the stalk assembly but at this point we believe the issue to be with the transfer of the information from the sensor due to the control unit either failing or losing power supply?
This does not however explain the intermittent battery light and codes for loss of communication with other modules which eventually log after some time but as i say we are running with the present fault which may or may not be related to the other codes? The main ignition relay has been checked as it supplies many of the modules which log codes, including the SASM.
Any information on the above or a previous fix of similar pattern greatly appreciated
Regards
Luke
