As for comms code these things log can faults for fun, even a partially drained battery will cause messages to briefly appear on the panel then disappear when the alternator kicks in and charges the battery, so i would be looking at fixing the suspension fault first.
Sounds to me like it is in calibration mode as C1A00-54 is a missing calibration fault code and when it is in this mode you can't clear light and bong is heard when you try and operate switch. See if your scanner can confirm this, we use Autologic so can't help on scanner side of things.
