Year of Manufacture *: 2004
I have the above car in initially running badly, and then it got to the stage it would make an effort to start on a couple of cyls to the point of no start all. I removed the oil filler cap and could see that the timing chain was loose so I thought bingo it jumped the timing. Replaced the timing chain using the correct tools but still no start.Have spark at the plugs and the compression readings were
Cyl 1 150 psi
cyl 2 130 psi
cyl 3 130 psi
cyl 4 110 psi
I dropped the sump to check the oil pump valve as they do tend to get stuck open with bits of the oil strainer in the dip pipe.I replaced the strainer and the valve was fine, nothing caught up in it. Put it all back together and still no start, but now my compression readings are 25 psi on the first 3 cyls and 90 psi on number 4. I have a feeling its a hydraulic problem but would be grateful for any advice/suggestions at this stage.Initially there was only 1 fault code relating to the VVT motor on the head but i believe this was replaced at some point and the codes may not have been cleared.
Thanks in advance
Dominic.
