Long-standing customer lost oil pressure.
No feed to oil filter.
Removed sump, found remnants of this spring, plug, ball bearing, etc, in bottom of sump and sucked up to strainer.
Any ideas where they have come from?
I know some of the VAG V6 engines had a non-return valve in the cylinder heads, but haven't come across anything like this on a Volvo.
Blade added for scale - ball about 3mm diameter.
