Read codes with G-Scan - nothing. Live data shows the range selector control working and actuator test makes suitable whirring noises from underneath.
When on the ramp, there is a groaning noise at the back of the main gearbox accompanied by a chattering from the clutch area. I'm thinking that perhaps a stripped spline at the back is making the clutch/dmf work overtime.
I know that won't get fixed cheaply but if someone has a vague idea of diagnosis / cost I can give the customer a heads-up before it gets stripped. If we leave it in one piece it'll be easier to chop it in against a new one.
