(I've emailed you some diagrams).
It's usually the wiring loom rubbing against the ECU bracket that causes fuse failures.
Also have a good look around the brake pedal/switch area too. I've had the ECM brake switch wire short, but that usually puts ABS/ESP lamp on, as it doesn't correlate with ECM information.
Finally, follow the loom there are plenty of mounting points on the engine where they can rub through. You may well find there's a section of loom not clipped onto anything that's rubbed through a bolt head (gearshift cable mounting bolts on the top of the gearbox are especially common on Sportage).
