After removing the red jumper wire the voltage drops to 3v and when passing a metal object (screwdriver) in front of the sensor it does in fact switch 0v. So it's pretty important to know what voltage should be at the signal terminal. In my case I guess 8V is wrong and I have wiring short or ECU issue. Of course I'm assuming that the ECU provides the reference voltage and the Hall sensor grounds it out or should it be the other way? Mark
