So in view of the foregoing, I have suggested that the keycard be sent to a specialist company for refurb/repair which appears to be a cheap option bearing in mind the cost of a new replacement and coding from Renault. I have seen reports that such repairs do not always appear to be a permanent repair and have advised accordingly. A new reader will be fitted if required. I understand the customer will obtain a spare keycard when finances allow.
Further updates will be provided as and when required.
