I find a 501 bulb a good substitute for most airbags for test purposes. It's usually the COMM 2000 unit faulty. IIRC there's green and blue plugs for the airbag - dependant on if it has a 2 stage airbag will alter how many are connected. Disconnect the plugs from the back of the COMM 2000 and try to clear the codes.

A 501 isn't always the answer but in your case it will work and you will presumably have one to hand.
