Thanks Andrew - I'll have a look but possibly not as this is a basic model with no keyfob entry etc.

(It was dark and raining last night when I returned to the car with the diagnostic kit!)

Do you know if a fuse protects the immobiliser, similar to fuse 29 which the archives indicate related to the system on earlier Fiestas?

I will be returning to the car today (when I have cast a spell to lengthen the day and give me an extra few hours) so I can check power supplies etc.
