Thanks for that. Their is a TSB relating to this that refers to using the PDU tool but I thought that maybe IDS had been made far enough backward compatible.
The problem I have is that it appears the car is in valet mode (boot open interior switch inop, boot open switch on bootlid inop) and for key programming mode to be activated the car should not be in valet mode. The method of leaving valet mode is to open the boot with the key (which of course will not be the valet key, I have one of each). However opening the boot with the key does not cause the car to exit valet mode. All inputs to the SLCM from around the car have been checked with only one fault the bonnet switch, which I have set as permanently closed (note to self: recheck this is correct!).
Looking with a scope most of the inputs are not steady voltages but have a horrible pulse waveform on them but they are the same shape as the door lock/unlock inputs and these work as advertised.
Hence my need for diagnostic assistance. Either one of the inputs is not being recognised by the SLCM or I will be happy to just get the remote key taught by a diagnostic tool.
Shaun.
