'Possibly' is the honest answer. Firstly it depends if your engine code is N12 or N14 (turbo or n/a). Obviously without the vent there will be increased pressure. If you have the N14 Cooper S then it would be more ideal to fit a catch can. On both generally speaking it would be perfectly fine to blank off the pcv if the car is just being used normally. If it is going to be driven hard then the system should be left as is or a catch can. On the later 1.6T engine PSA actually changed the design and removed the offending PCV pipe, fitting a pressure relief valve instead. It's a catch 22. With the system as designed it will burn oil and coke up the intake/valves. With it blocked you'll have higher crankcase pressure. Personally I'd sell it. Matt
