As Darren says you have a HEX code if you use the calculator in accesories on your PC select HEX put in your code in this case without the '0' so 4FC then select the 'Dec' (decimal) option and it converts to the decimal 1276 put the zero back at the front and you have the decimal number i.e. VAG 5 digit code.
The ABS ECU will pulse the ABS pump motor to check it, disconnect the plug work out which 2 pins are the motor and power probe them to check the pump motor fires up if not as suggested tap it
