Year of Manufacture *: 2004
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1200cc
This one is from another garage that has changed the diff and came to me for bleeding the clutch, I did warn them that these ususally end up as a non runner but they wanted to try it anyway.
Clutch bled out ok and operates correctly after setting contact points etc.
The car started but no drive so carried out 'learn gearbox parameters' to set the shift motors and this repeatedely timed out after 1st gear selection.
I removed the shift motors, powered them up and they both work in both directions.
Refitted them and scoped their supplies and both motors are getting power from ECU.
Is there a particular position that the gearbox selectors have to be set to (other than neutral) before installing the shift motors? I have heard that these gearboxes should be put in 4th gear but cannot get any definite info on this.
Vauxhall TIS in not clear on this and so I would appreciate the benefit of someone else's experience.
Thanks, Martin.
