This is a regular customer, so I do not really want to run away but...
He bought this old Nissan terrano. It runs ok, but is sluggish and noisy when cold. Fault code for injector sensor and MIL has been removed (!)
It would appear that it has had the engine replaced with a Ford one which is similar but not identical. In particular I suspect that the lift sensor works diferently and is not compatable with the Nissan ECU. Unfortunatly the injectors also appear to be physically diferent so I cannot simply screw a "Nissan" injector into the "Ford" cylinder head.
I was hoping that he would go back to the Pirate who sold it to him (it was some sort of garage) but he has decided not to bother.
Can anybody think of any way it might be possible to "Adapt" this so that it works reasonably satifactorally? (Ok, well,yes Bodge He is not under any illusions about this, It is a Dog, but apart from this problem quite a nice Dog)
Autodata has poor data on both Maveric and Nissan models so is rather unhelpful.
Thoughts that have occured;
1) Can a SH "Nissan" head be fitted to a "Ford" block? ( Owner would consider this)
2) Is there any way to "Interface" the Ford lift sensor witht he Nissan ECU?
3) Could a Ford ECU fit the Nissan wiring (Or be made to fit)
4) is it really a dead loss....!
