If the vehicle is left unlocked for a long period then it periodically tries to unlock itself (it never tries to lock itself and is fine when left locked). This is at least what it sounds and feels like it is trying to do when you listen/touch the doors and handles. When the fault is present it will try do it between every 30 and 120s (ish). Then it will disappear. You can also hear/feel the appropriate relay activate in the GEM module.
When plugged in to IDS the 'perimeter' diagnostic mode has determined that all the door switches are fine and similarly with all the door lock/unlock actuations. There are no other problems with the central locking operation and the door ajar warning light is never on.
One interesting point is that when you are in diagnostic mode then the interior courtesy lamps sometime flicker rapidly and you can hear/feel the GEM module relays going like the clappers (but not the central locking operating). Similarly whenever you undertake any data logging functions to look at data from the GEM module you get the lights flickering.
Sometimes I get a battery saver relay short fault code (B1315).
Power, grounds and fuses to the GEM module all check out ok.
Have updated GEM module with latest software.
Am suspecting the GEM module has gone la-la but was just wondering if anyone had seen this (before I throw £200 at a new module).
