Should have posted sooner, but been away.
we purchased a Sealey damaged glowplug removal and cleaning set. (part no SX0407) last resort before removing head and it worked, removed all snapped off glowplugs, no hassle in about 1.5 hours.
Hope this helps somebody else as everybody inc dealer was saying head off
