Looking for some help with this audi a4 ive got in at the moment. Some background, car had a wiper linkage 6 months ago due to the fairly common siezing up of the linkage. The wipers have been fine up until last week when they started to go very slowly, linkage was checked and was still nice and free. A genuine motor was fitted by another mechanic where i work and it did improve the speed but still wasnt right, the wipers packed up all together 2 days later.
This car has also recently had a water leak fixed that allowed water into the drivers footwell, ive pulled the carpet and it looks nice and clean down there.
I have 4 wires going to the motor, one ,one live, one wire with a dim earth (should be live?), and another wire with nothing atall.
Every now and again the wire with the dim earth will flash live and the motor twicthes.
Ive followed the wires down to the multifunction control module in the footwell and the wire that comes out is also a dim earth(should be live?).
Looking back between the stalk and control module there are two wires (van?) which im not sure what to see at them power wise.
Using vcds i can see the stalk telling the modules what to do in measuring blocks but im not getting any power out of the multifunction control module except for the occasional flicker.
Do these modules fail often??
Just after any advice you guys have, im somewhat new to looking at this kind of work but trying to get better without wasting peoples money...
