After replacing the gasket i've noticed a hairline crack where the chain is trying to come through the cover and a slight weep of oil .This was not there before so i can only assume that the new gasket is slightly thinner than the old one and tightening the cover was enough to press the chain closer to the cover.
Apart from a very slight noise in this area the car runs and sounds fine, so i'm assuming the chain is stretched after its not-enough-oil-changes 168k.
To keep cost down i intend to replace JUST the chain and the rocker cover ,as i figure the expensive tensioner is still doing its job
Any advice please on what sort of job this is?
Cheers
Colin.
