Year of Manufacture *: Aug 2002
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: N42B20A
Reading with multiscan:-
DME codes:
27A4 EWS 3.3 Interface to engine management.
27ED No CAN message from ASC/DSC
when reset the 27A4 returns.
EWS codes:
15 No description.
99 No description.
112 Key No 8 faulty ID.
113 Key No 8 incorrect password.
These codes cleared and have not returned.
In live data:
Key identity....not ok.
Key password... not ok.
Key code....... not ok.
Key number..switches between 1 and 10.
Key transmits...Yes.
Key disabled....No.
The key has been dropped in the bath but I believe they are fairly water/bulletproof. If they have a chip type transponder that should survive an immersion anyway.
Could the transponder be out of sync. If so is it possible to re-sync. Could it be a reader coil fault, I have not checked this yet but the live data seems to be saying that it can see the key, just that it doesn't like it.
Or do I just buy a new key, there is no programming required for the transponder and the keyless entry is a manual procedure.
Shaun.
