i have had cars in with second hand units fitted that were immobilised and we never managed to get them running,

Earlier this year, we got one in the same, bought from auction as a non runner, we found out that it had a used column fitted and would not program up.

we removed the immobiliser chip, reprogrammed it with the information from another steering column that had been taken out of a micra, we rebuilt it with the battery disconnected, reconnected the battery and the car started, The immobiliser light then stopped on.

We then disconnected the battery again and reconnected it and the light went out.

P,S. Don't blame me if it never starts again.
