Thanks a lot for replies,checked for water in module and all seemed fine. Switch for locking and unlocking doors on console over handbrake was not working so decided to take up console to check switch as i could not get it out from top.

As i moved console i could hear locks tripping as if trying to lock. When i took up console i could see wiring loom was caught between console and handbrake surround and shorting out with 2 wires stripped. Repaired wires and tied back and all seemed fine. Hope this might help someone in future as it was a manufactoring fault and will surely happen to other Octavias.
