with crank at tdc,balance shafts should be level with weight at lowest point,on rear of balance shaft is a cut out which should point down,if you buy a new unit be sure to check gear pulleys as they are not always tightened,our last customers turbo bearings were ruined as well leading to a seized turbo next day even after advising of noise.
