I agree with tony, we see a lot of these. We strip them down and rebuild them and havent had any comebacks yet? there is a small o-ring seal between the spline shaft and the linkage housing tube which fails and lets moisture enter. Bit of heat gets them moving (off the vehicle obviously!!) then cleanup luibricate and refit, dont forget a new seal
