I replaced the passenger window regulator after it had broken, a common problem I gather!
However it now wont "drop down" when opening the door from either the outside or inside handles.
Of course the owner claims it worked ok before!
However I've noticed this car has always had 'flakey' window drop down operation from previous services etc.
I took it to the dealer and tried a relearn proceedure which is basically holding down the switch after moving the window up and down to its extremities. They also suggested running the motor disconnected from the cables which I also did to no avail.
I note that when going down the window stops about 10mm from the bottom stop, requiring the switch to be operated again to make it go all the way down. Makes me think maybe the window regulator ECU thinks the window is going up when its going down.
Maybe there is some magic to be done to restore correct operation. Oh for a handle that you wind!
