The Ross Tech Website is very good for procedures - as Nigel posted. The procedure Nigel linked to is necessary if you have replaced the unit for a new one, it would also need coding in.
Easy to fit, instructions in the box.
Bleeding it through is the hardest part.
The advantage with repairing your own is you bleed it & drive the car 200 yards to reset Steering Angle adaption & you're done.
If you sent your unit for repair & were sent back a unit off a different vehicle - you have to reset everything.
The coding may have been incorrect which would require resetting.
Followed by the base setting procedure, this can become time consuming as you only have a couple of minutes to reset adaptions for steering limit stops /brake pressure sender/ steering angle/ lateral acceleration.
If the ECU doesn't see everything to it's satisfaction, you have to keep re-initialising the procedure until it's happy - I suspect you were sent someone else's unit & this was what the dealer had to try & readapt, this can get time consuming & is probably what you paid for.
If you were definitely sent your old unit back - then it probably just needed a short drive to reinitialise it??
VCDS can do this.
There is a problem with the Bosch KTS initialising a new unit if KTS users are reading this. Bosch are working on a fix.
