i have tried to clean out the tank and use a 3 stage treatment called por15 after following the instructions to the letter and using a product called petrol patch on the outside it hasn't worked then tried another product called petrol putty and that wouldn't adherer to the metal even when cleaned down to metal now last ditch attempt I'm using a 2pack epoxy chemical metal that is supposed to be resistant to petrol laugh my bloody head off spent hours on this and I'm loosing temper slowly I'm trying not to murder the paint work and I'm not feeling brave enough to solder it.
has anyone any other ideas or product they have used that works!!!!!
i think the cause was a rubber edging strip that was fitted on the seam of the tank and water has been left there to rust the tank previous owner didn't love it very much, begining to get the same feeling.
PS cant find a replacement unless anyone out there knows of any :-)
