A week later, the very same problem. Re-read system, fuel level sensor & electronic key codes back again, also noted when trying to start 2nd time no spark or fuel pump. We removed & inspected the key areial but not sure this is the problem. So rang our helpful Fiat dealer & they suggested re-programming the keys we had already successfully got the vehicle started by fiddling with the fuse box for ages. Re-programmed both keys & gave back to customer 3 days later no start but this time when attending the fuel pump was working but no spark, neither was the key code light flashing. I have tried wiggling & disconnecting the ign switch but makes no difference, neither the fuel gauge or indicators work again.
The flasher can appears to be an internal part of the fuse box which is also the body controller. The unit from Fiat is £372.00 & Vat & coding in; on a V Reg fiat the customer is reluctant to pay this sort of money. The question is has anyone been brave enough to take one of these fuse boxes apart? it strikes me that it is only a bad connection in there that is causing the problem. The strange thing is we do hundreds of these Puntos and on the whole the electrics strike me as being very reliable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
