Many modern CAN Enabled vehicles exhibit a no-start situation when ABS fails comms on startup.
It's supposed to be a safety feature.
I have seen a Ford Mondeo recently which had a fuse removed in error (long story) produce the same symptom. The dash cluster showed an immobiliser fault warning.
Sort ABS, vehicle starting.
